Happy Thanksgiving from the BVI's

Well Gang it has been an adventures couple of days!
From Saba and the Bitter End we sailed to Trellis Bay and had a few at De Loose Mongoose!  Beautiful Harbor but we were all WET!  To get ahead of the rain we left early to head to Jost Van Dyke.  That was our first time there, and we really wanted to visit the Soggy Dollar and Foxxy's.  (You may be seeing a trend here!)  Made it safely to the Anchorage, swam off the back of the boat to a beautiful reef and floated for a couple of hours.  The rain, my friends, did not leave.  So we had lunch headed in for a drink.  So let me paint a picture.

In order to go into shore you have to get off of a semi dry Sailboat onto a OPEN dingy and motor into shore (WET).  Because of the number of our guests, that requires 2 trips!  There is no dock at the Soggy Dollar - that requires beaching it.  (Now this is where it because apparent who does what in our sailing partnership.)  Megan has years of experience with things with motors, so she drives the dingy.  I ride the bow - like a mast head- and tie off and help everyone in and out.  So guess who gets off the dingy in waist deep water?????  (Lest you not feel to sorry for me, I brought almost no cotton clothes and I have been living in swimsuits and wet dry tops/shorts- I knew what I was getting into.)

So we had some cocktails met some new friends (including the owner of the Soggy Dollar) and headed back to the boat.  This is where Megan and I made our first mistake.  We checked the weather, we looked at our anchorage, and we thought we would be fine.  Bad decision.  We rocked and rolled all night, and hit the mooring ball regularly.  Not for the best sleep, so we were up every couple of hours checking on everything and trying to improve the situation for our friends.  The final decision, at first light we left our ball and headed into open water.  It was great to be up and not bouncing around.  We opted to next re-provision at Soupers Hole, have lunch on shore and make a run for a couple of nights at Norman Island.  (We know it is protected, it is a beautiful spot to snorkle, and there are 2 bars😋).  After a fabulous day in the water, and dinner full of steaks and baked potatoes some of our kittens went to the Willie T's for cocktails - IN THE RAIN!

Everyone slept well last night and we are all looking forward to a great Thanksgiving!
I am truly Thankful for spending Thanksgiving sharing my passion with friends but more importantly, these kittens are resilient and easy going!
We truly expect to survive the trip WITHOUT a mutiny!
